"ISRC, a space research station infested by an alien host."
"Can IPC members Johnson & Stone save the day?"

Released in October 1991, Alien Breed was Team 17's debut in the full price range of games, and one of the first true 1meg arcade games to be launched. Alien Breed was replaced by Alien Breed Special Edition after Team 17's rapid ascension in the computer gaming world since the release of this title.
The game received huge critical acclaim with stunning graphics, crisp arcade sound and action that gained a huge army of fans.
This game continues to hold up even today, and I would recommend getting your hands on it if you are mad like me and still own an Amiga, or have an Amiga-PC emulator.
The graphics are top notch for a 1meg system, explosions are intense and real, while movement and gunfire is unhindered. The levels are challenging and vast, often confusing first time players in near labyrinthine complexity. However, there are some flaws with the game system; most notable is the 'key' element. To proceed through doors you require keys which can be picked up or bought in the computer terminals. However, if you don't know where to go first, you may use up all your keys to places were there are no credits or other keys. You'll find yourself trapped with an endless horde of aliens at your door!
After a few goes this problem would clear, I just feel that the element could have been left out. A very good, solid game by Team 17.
