"Another World was the first of its kind. It brought about a completely new gaming experience."

This game is the mother of all modern games which no one gives credit for; it has many, many ground breaking techniques that no other game had even considered before and put Delphine on the map.
Let's start with the graphics, now admittedly they look pretty bad now, in fact they look worse than that, but you have to understand that Another World was the first game to create a moving figure in polygons and not a standard bitmap. This alone gives the character of Lester unique, realistic movement never seen before in computer games. Plus it has stylishly designed backdrops, often giving the impression of three dimensions, yet not.
The game was also the first to have non-interactive 'cut-scenes' combined with the gameplay to create a more movie-like experience.
Adding to this filmic experience, there is a certain amount of characterisation in this game not given in previous titles. You become genuinely concerned for Lester and other characters, and as the plot progresses, you are always wanting to know what happens next!
As far as problems go, the game fails at tiny programming problems, which often happens with young companies. Such problems include the only way to complete the game, is to die and restart the area again and again. You will NOT complete it without dying at least one hundred times!
Some people find that 'trial-and-error' gaming is bad, but this game pulls it off. Its sophisicated for its age, it is still good fun, and all together it is a recommended game!
