Title: Apidya
Developer: Team 17
Year of Release:
No. Players: 1-2
Graphics: * * *
Control: * * *
Sound: * * *
Genre: Arcade, side-scroll shooter

I personally don't like Apidya, I don't know what Team 17 were thinking in making this title, whether or not it was one of their first titles I am not sure, but the game itself does not stand the test of time very well. At all.

It is a basic side-scrolling shooter, when I say basic, I mean basic. It is the simplest form of 3D even for the Amiga system, and there is barely enough sound to give any sense of action or pace which all 'arcade' shooters require.
I don't understand the story line either. Given that this is from the same people who gave us Alien Breed and Project X (two fantastic titles) I can't see where any of the thinking behind this game came from. You play as a rather evil looking wasp, that flies through garden and undergrowth landscapes blasting other bugs and small animals with... some kind of projectile mucus or acid or something.

All together, I don't like it. I seriously recommend if you want a side-scrolling shooter get Project X for a PC emulator or your Amiga system; it is way the better game by Team 17. Apidya, unusual idea, very strange box cover, is a disappointment.
