I apologize in advance for the rather long 'Main Theme' music!
Bred from classics such as Project X and Starray, this low-budget game does hold its own.. quite well. The developers have certainly made a lot of enemy ship types for this title!
It is your typical side-scrolling arcade shooter, considerably better than Apidya by Team 17, but the game can get rather dull. There are no real goals or different objectives and as far as I can tell, every level you do the same thing!
You must 'clear' each sector by destroying all of the asteroids present at the start of the level. Don't do it fast enough, 'attack waves' will enter the sector intent on killing you, and so to clear the sector, you have to kill all of them! If you take too long, then the sector may be packed full of enemies!
Boss levels are unique and the bitmap ships are well designed and detailed, but the game lacks drive as you get further and further, as it becomes clear you are just doing the same thing over and over again with no real feeling of achievement.
The sound too, is rather dull. Always the same exploding noise, shooting noise, and the music isn't great - hence the apology!
Still, better than a Team 17 title, that's good going! I would still recommend Project X out of all side-scrolling shooters!
