Bizarre how I love this game, yet I haven't actually got beyond the first level!

This game hosts one of my favourite music scores, and there is nothing surprising about that; Delphine Software were the brains behind 'Another World', a game which shook the computer gaming world twice over with ground-breaking graphic engineering, cutscenes and movie-like atmospheric sound. Flashback (subtitled in some countries as 'The Quest for Identity') is the company's second game yet has no connection whatsoever to Another World.
The plot is not unlike The Borne Identity; you play as a man on the run from the authorities while trying desperately to regain some of his memory.
Delphine had not disappointed with this title, in fact Flashback was such as huge hit that many failed to even acknowledge Another World's existance. They had tweeked with the polygon contructed characters further, making them move even more realistically than before, and giving them more human-like emotions and features. The graphic art of this title is also extremely well made, the jungle level which is the first stage, has an almost touchable feel to it, while the realistic movements and FX give it a highly natural feel, as if you are seeing a real world in action before your eyes!
Flackback's character can do a lot more than Lester could in Another World; he can jump, dive, grab on to ledges, climb, crouch and fire guns in different manners. The game is also a lot easier to play; less of the trial-by-error that dominated AW to the point of obscene!
A definite recommendation! I know that I'll be going back to this one, very soon!
