Genre: Asteroid Shooter

An evolution of the classic 'Asteroids'!

Asteroids, ignoring traditionalists for one moment, can't get much better than this! Instead of the little triangular space ship, you're a sci-fi blaster-totting, trotting-hoof-footed spaceman. Instead of the outlined asteroids you have fully 3D bitmaps bouncing around.
Effectively you are trapped in a small box with a gun and loose rocks crashing and bashing randomly around you, and the only way to survive is to blow them to bits!
Of course, we all know how to win Asteroids, you simply destroy them one at a time so there are less bits flying around. (In case somehow you don't know asteroids (?) the asteroids when shot, split in half to form two, then each of them split in two and so on.) But Super Obliteration has a new idea to keep the classic interesting. Each level is designed differently, platorms (unreachable by your robot-guy) make the asteroids bounce around in different ways, funnelled into narrow gaps, often all of them will pile down towards you at once.
This is when your blaster comes in handy, and I must say, its a wicked blaster (more like an arm-mounted death-cannon). You have multiple pick-ups: credit, faster and slower rate of fire, fan-fire, bolt-fire and homing grenades. You can freeze the asteroids too, and... EXPLODE them for unlimited chaos!
Super Obliteration is about as cool and fun as Asteroids can get!
