Test The Deathbed Vigil and other Tales of Digital Angst

write by Patric Klöter - translate by Marek Suchowski

As Dave Haynie realized that Commodore would´nt survive independendly any longer, he decided to grab his Camera and took some pictures and clips from different locations at Commodore in West Chester. There was´nt any real work left to do for the folks at Commodore and management already encouraged them to look for another job in another company.

The DVD shows Dave Haynies office, those of his collegues of CBM, their master tavern and last but not least the prototype "NYX" which featured the (due to the bankrupt) never to be released AAA chipset.

Furthermore the video shows emotionally disconcerted Commodore employees. Its sad to see Dave walking through empty storages, once filled to the roof with thousands of Amigas. Mehdi Ali and Bill Sydness get dizzed a lot in the video, time gives us the chance take a different point of view today.

The DVD contains several additional material to the 2 hour video, as there are the "Chicken-Lips-Blues video" ("I got a computer, I can no longer use"), the short movie "Amiga Impact" which contains 50 quotations related to the Amiga, some scenes which were cutted from the original video and a photo collection which consists of pictures from 1985 - 2002, sorted into 28 chapters.

The straight from the US imported DVD without regional code protection can be ordered from Jens Schoenfeld (individual computers) for 39.-¤. Everyone not having the VHS tape should use the opportunity and get the DVD, which contains features that are interesting for owners of the original as well. Anyway, the DVD is an interesting piece of history in the making and comes along with an autogram of Dave Haynie.

One of the most interesting features are the pictures see:

- the plus/4
-Dave in suit (who would have thought about that :)....
- the Amiga ´90 in Basel
and many more of better times far away.
