Amigakit kommt auf die AmiWest 2011

Published 25.06.2011 - 10:20 by AndreasM

One of our staunchest AmiWest supporters and now a perennial exhibitor are Amigakit from Cardiff, England. Our Chief Operations Officer, Chuck Washburn, called to confirm their plans for AmiWest 2011 (making contact at 2 AM PDT!). Matthew Leaman confirmed that they will be here just as they planned at the conclusion of AmiWest 2010 and are very excited about being here for 2011. We'll have more about why they're so excited as we learn more.

The excitement is definitely building for AmiWest 2011. Don't be left out of the major new developments that always occur at AmiWest.

So be sure to make your plans to attend AmiWest 2011, the Amiga show on the West Coast of the United States of America! It's all happening at the new Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95821, Tel: 916.923.1100. Come see the latest in Amiga hardware and software October 21-23, 2011. And watch this blog for breaking news of AmiWest 2011 as it happens! You don't want to miss it! [...]

AROS: Icaros Desktop 1.3 patch 01 erschienen

Published 24.06.2011 - 09:40 by AndreasM

Our great friend Deadwood has released two amazing ports for AROS: Cube and AssaultCube. They both need 3D acceleration, so you won't run them smoothly without a graphic card supported by Gallium (this means a GeForce Fx, 6, 7, 8, 9 or GT200 series), and you will need a updated mesa.library to run them. The good news is that a proper patch is ready for Icaros Desktop 1.3, so you will just need to run its installer, and download Deadwood games to play them.

Download Icaros Desktop 1.3 patch 01

This patch won't let you play games only. It addressess also some other annoying bugs found after 1.3 release: OWB and general speed issues, and problems updating the kernel with LiveUpdater. Since it updates LUPD, you won't use it to install this patch. You will need to extract the files into a path, enter the UPDATE drawer, and launch the INSTALL script double-clicking on its icon. It will do the rest for you. Patch 01 also introduces two new emulators (zsnes and kegs), and updates some programs (AviBuild, nasm and fuse) to their latest versions. In the end, you'll get a new kernel, mesa, arosc and some other libraries updated, the new wave datatype and all drivers updated to latest builds. But now, please enjoy these videos from Bobo.

Hyperion Entertainment kommt auf die AmiWest 2011

Published 24.06.2011 - 09:40 by AndreasM

We heard from Steven Solie, designated AmigaOS Development Team Lead on Monday, June 20, that Hyperion has confirmed their presence at AmiWest 2011. "Feel free to blog it," he says. So we are.

Steven and company are hard at work on the next OS update and applications for Amiga OS even as you read this. It's exciting to us that someone of Steven's experience and abilities is associated with the new Amiga. We're sure that the other developers he is enlisting for Amiga development are also very talented in their own right. We don't know everything that is in the works, but if past efforts are any indication, whatever "it" is should be exciting enough to attend AmiWest 2011 to experience.

So be sure to make your plans to attend AmiWest 2011, the Amiga show on the West Coast of the United States of America! It's all happening at the new Holiday Inn Express, 2224 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95821, Tel: [...]

Lua meets ARexx

Published 22.06.2011 - 09:51 by AndreasM

Auf http://www.morphzone.org steht:

MorphOS port of Lua scripting language has been customized to the system from the start. The next step done in version 0.5 is ipc.module acting as a gate between Lua and ARexx ports of applications. To say it short, with ipc.module one can send ARexx commands to applications from Lua scripts, and of course receive their results. A Lua version of known love.rx script from TVPaint has been included in the archive as a proof of concept. The module supports also interface to MorphOS shell using known ARexx "address command" idea. As all Lua scripts, those using ipc.module can be debugged with source level debugger LuaExplorador included in the archive available in the download section.
