PPC News: Cell in 65nm, Efika at Partners

Cell in 65nm

Like it was already told in other newstickers, IBM plans to produce the Cell, their PPC prozessor used in Sony's PS3, with their new 65nm prozess.
Although IBM provides its 65nm prozess to AMD, they still produced the Cell in their older 90nm process.
A 65nm version would consume less energie, needs less cooling and would be cheaper, cause it needs less chip area.

According to the original artikle from IBM SCEI aims ( Sony Computer Entertainment ) to use the 65nm prozessor to lower their costs.
