Press Release:
In 1990, LucasArts set new standards for an entire computer game genre with The Secret of Monkey Island. Probably the most famous point'n'click adventure game of all time owes its legendary reputation to its delightfully anachronistic world full of colorful pirates and its Monty Python-inspired humor. Recently, the sixth installment of the series was released, which has gone through many ups and downs in its long history and is inextricably linked to "Pirates of the Caribbean".
"The Secrets of Monkey Island" is a tribute to Monkey Island and the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, "mighty pirate". The book describes in great detail how Monkey Island became a milestone in video game history through its unique storytelling. It also features a look back at the turbulent history of LucasArts and Telltale Games, recipes for voodoo grog, lyrics to interactive pirate reggae songs, and plenty of sayings as sharp as a cutlass (useful for duels and sophisticated parties with 40-year-old geeks).
From the contents:
* the origin story of all six parts of Monkey Island, with Guybrush Threepwood's memoirs.
