Founded in 1992, it has become the first point of contact for users who are looking for software for the Amiga.

In general, the software is uploaded directly by its programmer. For your information, Aminet now stores approximately 30 GB of data.

New Amiga Software Database Updates

The Amiga Software Database (ASD) of Amiga Future updated again.

The ASD is a database in English and German which will include complete information to all released applications, CD-ROMs, literature and much more for the Amiga.

Of course the dataset is far from complete. Meanwhile there is already information to more than 4200 titles in the database. Moreover there have been already over 6500 images integrated with more to follow. [...]

Now in 2020, they're back with a new console called the Amico, which promises to rekindle some of the actual fun that video games used to be. AJ and Joerg talk to Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico and European president Hans Ippisch about how this all began and how they're bringing Intellivision into the 21st century while honoring its long legacy. ZGloom: An open source re-implementation of Gloom

ZGloom is an open source re-implementation for today's computers of the first person shooter Gloom published originally by Black Magic Software for the Amiga in 1995. The game is currently only available as source code and must be compiled before it can be played. Corresponding informations for Windows and Linux are included in the description of the GitHub project. However, the TODOs listed there should be noted: the re-implementation is still in an early development phase.

Jump! is advancing

In the middle of the last year an implementation of the game title Yoomp! has been announced for Amiga computers. The game is already well known on the Atari and C64 for several years. A first demo video has been released meanwhile on the website of the Amiga project. The video is showing an early version of the game in action on an Amiga 1200 with 14 MHz and 4 MB Fast RAM. An Amiga 500 version is also planned. According to the current status, a first release could be available in the third quarter of 2020.

Open Kick-Off: An early Kick Off 2 remake

Sébastien Sénégas from France published his attempt to rewrite Kick Off 2 in Java on GitHub. The soccer game known from the Amiga and Atari ST, which is played from the top view, can currently be downloaded and tested as an early pre-release version.

New text adventure by Stefan Vogt: The Curse of Rabenstein

Stefan Vogt, who may already be known to some of you with his text adventure title called Hibernated, has now published a new text adventure title together with Puddle Software called The Curse of Rabenstein. A digital version is still pending, but the physical version can already be purchased for the Amiga from the online shop. In addition to the 3.5 "diskette in a cardboard box, buyers also receive eight-page DIN A5 instructions in English.
