Impulse Firecracker

Post by RCTools »

Hi Amigans,
I looking for any documentation, faqs or software available for an Impulse, FireCracker graphics display buffer card.

I've looked in all of the usual Amiga hardware sites and searched with Google using several search combinations, and all attempts have failed.

Please email me if you have any access to any of the above requested material.

Thanks in advance, Bob

The Firecracker24 is a display card that allows one to view images in 24 bit,
it was never designed as a graphics card. there isn't any drivers to put into
the Devs:monitors(not Prefs:screenmodes) directory.

with the card hooked up to the system it should pass through normal Amiga
video signals but it won't enhance them by adding more colors to them or
anything else.

ADPro and ImagemasterRT both directly supported the Firecracker24 and allowed
one to use it to display images in 24 bit on the Amiga but that was all the
card was for. ImageFX also supports the card.

There are no drivers for the Firecracker24 from Picasso96 or CyberGraphics
since the card is only a frame buffer for use with a 15Khz monitor and not a
true graphics card.

Refer: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys ... 3c65ab968c

BTW: If you own this card, are you able to provide us with additional fotos of the card?
That would be great!

Hi Supimajo,

Thanks for the reply.

I've recently found the 4 missing ImageMaster disks, that came with the FireCracker card. They are all labelled as the FireCracker24 FPU, Version 9.23.

I also have several versions of ADPro here, the latest is Art Department Professional 2.5.0 (24/11/1993)

Can you tell me what the 15 pin output connector is for?

Or do you have any info for Monitor connections for the card?

I have a C= 1942 monitor, and a Microway Flicker Fixer in
the A2000 with the FireCracker.
All (7 + I've lost count) of my 1080/1084S monitors have
died and been trashed.

Yes, I do have the card, and I will take several pictures
with a Canon A520 and have my daughter transfer them to me
via email.

Thanks in advance, Bob
