Envelopes in XMs Exported from Digibooster Pro

Post by mumart »

Hi, I've been looking into a problem playing XM files exported from DigiBooster Pro. It appears the envelope points are encoded in a non-standard way. The following tunes do not play correctly on many XM replays.

ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Fastt ... %20fold.xm
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Fastt ... control.xm

FT2 saves envelope time-points relative to 0, whereas with DigiBooster they appear to be delta-coded, although there is some debate as to whether this is actually the case.

Since DigiBooster seems to import FT2 XMs correctly, I was wondering whether anybody can explain the correct way of handling these modules?

Thanks,
Martin

Thanks dude & sorry for delay.

Well, since im using DBPro i haven't any problems with exporting DBPro-Modules.

But, may be this tool can help you and fix your problems :) :

http://aminet.net/mus/misc/dbm2xm.lha

-snip-
DBM2XM guarants the most accurate conversion as possible.
The program was made just as response for not perfect converter build in DigiBoosterPro. The DBM has features that XM hasn't (ie. real-time DSP).
So, use it only in important cases.
Remember: don't broke someone's art, converting without be sure about the result.
-snip-

With this program you'll have an excellence weapon to convert your dbm as good as possible to xm with many options.
And the "how to use" doc is really great styled :D
bye...
